Sikora Piano Duo

Piano duo form the graduates of the Academy of Music in Katowice Marta Wójcik- Sikora and Jakub Sikora. In order to perfect their skills in the field of chamber music they have completed postgraduate studies in 2015 as a piano duo tought by prof. Wojciech Świtała. As students of Aglika Genova & Liuben Dimitrov piano duo (Hochschule fur Musik, Theater und Medien, Hannover) they regularly take part in masterclasses in Germany and Bulgaria. The duo’s repertoire consists of pieces for 4 hands as well as for two pianos and is regularly expanded with new items.
Sikora Piano Duo has perfomed many times in Poland, Bulgaria, Germany, Austria and Italy. Artists have won the third prize in 2011 at the International Piano Competition „Music without limits” in Druskininkai (Lithuania) and the first prize at the International Piano Competition in Forio d’Ischia (Italy) in 2014. In 2016 they succeded in receiving the second prize at the International Piano Competition „Chopin in Roma” as a four hands piano duo. In November 2017 duo achieved first prize in XI Franz Schubert International Competition in Ruse. In the next year Sikora Piano Duo has performed at prestigious „March Music Days” festival in Ruse, receiving an enthusiastic reaction of the international audience. Pianists won the special award of the Polish Composers Union for the best performance of the polish pieces at the VII Bialystok International Piano Duo Competition in 2018. In 2019 duo was admitted to semi-finals of XXI Franz Schubert International Piano Duo Competition as well as semi-finals of Suzana Szörenyi International Piano Duo in Bucarest.
