Polish bass-baritone, Artur Janda, graduated from the F. Chopin Music University in Warsaw, from the Solo Singing Faculty under the tutelage of Anna Radziejewska and from the Piano Faculty under the tutelage of Professor Kazimierz Gierżod.
Since 2008 he is collaborating regularly with the Warsaw Chamber Opera, where he performs such parts as: Orbazzano in Tancredi, Alidoro in La Cenerentola, Selim in Il turco in Italia, title roles in Imeneo, Orfeo ed Euridice, Le nozze di Figaro, Papageno in Die Zauberflöte, Masetto in Don Giovanni, Dulcamara in L’elisir d’amore, Marshal in Halka (vilnius version), Azarias in The Burning Fiery Furnace, Sewer in Z. Krauze’s Polieukt and the Professor in M. Dobrzyński’s Operetta. In the year 2011 he appeared in the part of Sewer at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse and debuted at the Nationaltheater Mannheim with the parts of un Passante and un Poliziotto in the premiere of  S. Sciarrino’s Superflumina. In the year 2016 Artur Janda performed at the Warsaw Autumn Festival as Il Malaspina in S. Sciarrino’s Luci mie traditrici, returning to this part in 2018 during the New Opera Days in Ostrava. The artist appears regularly at the Baroque Opera Festival Dramma per musica in Warsaw in the roles of Pallante in Agrippina, Zoroastro in Orlando and Melisso in Alcina.
Since 2016 Artur Janda cooperates with the Polish National Opera singing the parts of Zbigniew in The Haunted Manor and Escamillo in Carmen. He also appears as a guest at the Wrocław Opera, Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz and the Baltic Opera in Gdańsk, where in the 2019/2020 season he has performed the title role in A. Cagnoni’s opera Don Bucefalo.
Highlights of the 2020/2021 season for Artur Janda are his performances as Don Pizarro in a premiere production of Fidelio at the Baltic Opera, as well as Provost Marshal in Cardillac at the Polish National Opera, where he will also return as Zbigniew and Escamillo.
Being a member of the proMODERN contemporary vocal sextet, in the years 2012-2015, he was awarded with two prestigious Fryderyk Awards, one of them for the Most Outstanding Polish Music Recording for the album Where Are You. Pieces From Warsaw. In 2018 he received the Fryderyk 2018 Award in the category of Early Music Album of the Year for the recording Antonio Caldara- Maddalena ai piedi di Cristo.
In the year 2019 and 2020 he was nominated for the prestigious Jan Kiepura Theatrical Music Award in the category of the Best Opera Singer.
