Andrzej Jakuszew (Andrei Yakushau)

Born 07.06.1990.  Composer, conductor. Currently student at Chopin University of Music in Warsaw (composing, Master) as well as Ignacy Jan Paderewski Academy of Music in Poznan (symphonic and opera conducting, Master).
Born in Molodechno, Belarus. In 2015, graduated from Belarusian State Academy of Music (choral conducting), and started studying composing at the same institution. Throughout 2012-2019, worked at the Belarusian National Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Opera and Ballet of Belarus as a choir singer and choirmaster. Performed as a singer and conducted works by modern Polish, Belarusian and Ukrainian composers. Alumnusof “Gaude Polonia” scholarship from Polish Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2018). Starting 2018, a Board member of the Youth Circle of Polish Composers’ Union. Starting 2015, a member of the Union of Poles in Belarus. Founder of young composers’ and musicians’ association “Mastacki nacisk” (“Art Attack”, Minsk, Belarus, 2011-2019) that regularly held concerts of music by young Belarusian, Polish and Ukrainian composers. In 2019, founded “Art Music Orchestra”, a symphonic orchestra (Minsk, Belarus). As an arranger, worked with orchestras and bands, such as “Magic Orchestra” and “Magic Duo” (Warsaw), “Olympia Classic” and “Niemiga” (Minsk). Author of short stories in Belarusian, published in collections of short stories by Belarusian writers. In January 2017, winner of international literary contest “Pershatsvet” in Minsk.
