Maciej Małecki
Born in 1940 in Warsaw, composer, pianist, graduate of the State Academy of Music (currently F. Chopin University of Music) in Warsaw in 1965. In the years 1967-1968 he continued studies at the Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y., USA.
At the beginning of his career he was playing in a professional piano duo. In the 1970s he was composing music mostly for the stage, radio drama, television and movies. In the 1980s he changed his image and began to compose concert music. Between 1993 and 1999 he was President of Polish Composers’ Union.
