The March 1611 dedication of his book places him at the Archbishop&#8217;s court in\u00a0\u0141owicz, and that Baranowski hired no replacement suggests he may have survived his patron, who died in 1615.<br \/>Ziele\u0144ski&#8217;s only known surviving works are contained in two 1611\u00a0liturgical\u00a0cycles of\u00a0polychoral\u00a0works, the\u00a0Offertoria\/Communes totius anni. These were dedicated to the\u00a0Archbishop of Gniezno,\u00a0Wojciech Baranowski. The whole comprises eight part-books and a ninth book, the\u00a0Partitura pro organo, which constitutes the organ accompaniment. This publication contains in all 131 pieces written for various vocal and also vocal and instrumental ensembles, all with organ accompaniment.<br \/>In addition to\u00a0Offertories\u00a0and\u00a0Communions\u00a0the two volume Venetian publication contains over a dozen other pieces, such as\u00a0hymns,\u00a0antiphons, a\u00a0magnificat, and even three instrumental\u00a0fantasias. In his compositions Ziele\u0144ski relies on his own creative invention and does not, in general, make use of the\u00a0cantus firmi.\u00a0The few pre-existing melodies which may be traced out in his pieces are based not on plainsong but on the melodies of Polish songs.[citation needed]\u00a0The sets consist of large-scale double- and triple-choir antiphons, as well as some\u00a0monodic\u00a0works typical of the\u00a0Seconda pratica\u00a0style of early\u00a0Monteverdi.
