The beginnings of the Witold Lutos\u0142awski Chamber Philharmonic in \u0141om\u017ca go back to the establishment in 1977 of the \u0141om\u017ca Chamber Orchestra. Since then the ensemble has given more than one thousand concerts in Poland and abroad and received numerous awards for its artistic achievements and its contribution to the development of musical culture among others „Podlaska Marka Roku 2018” (Podlasie Brand of the Year 2018) and „\u0141om\u017cy\u0144ski Anio\u0142 Biznesu 2019” (\u0141om\u017ca Business Angel) as the Ambassador of the \u0141om\u017ca Region.<\/p>

The orchestra\u2019s successive directors were Mieczys\u0142aw Szyma\u0144ski, Henryk Szwedo and Tadeusz Chachaj. The last director was given the title of Honorary Principal Conductor by his successor, Jan Mi\u0142osz Zarzycki, who assumed the post of Managing and Artistic Director in 2004.
The orchestra has performed with prominent conductors: Tomasz Bugaj, Miros\u0142aw Jacek B\u0142aszczyk, Stefan Fraas, Pierangelo Gelmini, Giancarlo De Lorenzo, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Marek Pijarowski, Peder Rensvik, Jerzy Salwarowski, J\u00f3zef Wi\u0142komirski, and famous soloists, including Eugene Indjic, Krzysztof Jakowicz, Konstanty Andrzej Kulka, Wies\u0142aw Ochman, Gra\u017cyna Brodzi\u0144ska and Piotr Paleczny.
Orchestra has taken part in numerous prestigious festivals such as the Kristiansund Kirke Kunst Kulturfestival (Norway), Klaipeda Music Spring (Lithuania), U\u017eutrakio Vakarai Festival in Troki (Lithuania), the \u201cSongs from the River Salcia\u201d Festival in Solechniki (Lithuania), Festival \u201cMusic at the Bali\u0144ski Palace in Jaszuny\u201d (Lithuania), International Organ and Chamber Music Festival in Gi\u017cycko, the Moniuszko Festival of the Podlasie Region and the Operetta and Opera Festival in Mazovia. The ensemble also performed at the 1st Warsaw Tournament of Tenors, 6th International Competition of Piano Duos in Bia\u0142ystok, the National Philharmonic in Warsaw and the Royal Concerts at the Royal Castle in Wilan\u00f3w. It has also done a lot to consolidate Polish cultural traditions giving regular concerts in Lithuania and Belarus (Grodno). Foreign tours also took it to France (2009) and Norway (2012).
The orchestra\u2019s discography includes 16 CDs, one of which won the Fryderyk Award 2019 of the Polish Recording Industry, five won a nomination to the Fryderyk Award and two to the International Classical Music Awards.
Witold Lutos\u0142awski Chamber Philharmonic in \u0141om\u017ca is the organizer of the International Chamber Music Festival \u201cSacrum et Musica\u201d which was founded in 2005 as well as a series of concerts entitled \u201cMusical evenings at Lutos\u0142awski’s\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
