Ma\u0142gorzata Kosi\u0144ska<\/figcaption>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/figure>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-column elementor-col-50 elementor-top-column elementor-element elementor-element-22045959\" data-id=\"22045959\" data-element_type=\"column\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-wrap elementor-element-populated\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-20a87065 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"20a87065\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Composer, conductor and music life organiser; born in 1930 in Sadlno.<br \/>In 1949-51 he studied musicology with Adolf Chybi\u0144ski in Adam Mickiewicz University in Pozna\u0144; in 1950-54 \u2013 composition with Tadeusz Szeligowski and in 1951-55 conducting with Walerian Bierdiajew and\u00a0Stanis\u0142aw Wis\u0142ocki in the State Higher School of Music in Pozna\u0144.<br \/>In 1954-64 he was a conductor in Pozna\u0144 Opera, also working with many symphony orchestras, particularly with Pozna\u0144 Philharmonic.\u00a0Later he worked in the Grand Theatre in Warsaw and the Grand and Musical Theatres in \u0141\u00f3d\u017a.<br \/>In 1970-73 he was artistic director of \u201cPolskie Nagrania\u201d record company; 1973-1985 he held the function of Secretary General in the Polish Composers\u2019 Union (PCU), and 1985-2001 \u2013 President of PCU Warsaw Branch. In 1986, he founded the festival Warsaw Music Encounters, of which he is artistic director.<br \/>For his works and organising activity, W\u0142adys\u0142aw S\u0142owi\u0144ski received numerous awards and distinctions, e.g.: in\u00a01975 \u2013 Golden Cross of Merit, in\u00a01977 \u2013 Prime Minister\u2019s Award for works for children and young people, in\u00a01980 \u2013 Cavalier\u2019s Cross of the Polonia Restituta Order, in\u00a01986 \u2013 The Golden Honorary \u201cBadge of Merit to Warsaw\u201d, in 1987 \u2013 Officer\u2019s Cross of the Polonia Restituta Order; in 1990 \u2013 Award of the Warsaw Voivode for his entire musical oeuvre, in 1999 \u2013 the annual Award of the Polish Composers\u2019 Union for compositions, the organisation of the Warsaw Music Encounters festival and contributions to PCU\u2019s work, in 2001 \u2013 Award of the Marshal of the Mazovian Voivodship for compositions and social activity, in 2005 \u2013 Commander\u2019s Cross of the Order of Poland\u2019s Rebirth, in 2006 \u2013 Silver Medal Gloria Artis \u2013 Merit to the Culture and the Cyprian Kamil Norwid Award of the Self-Government of the Mazovian Voivodship in the field of music.<br \/>W\u0142adys\u0142aw S\u0142owi\u0144ski reconstructed and developed missing The Old Tale opera&#8217;s by Wladyslaw \u017bele\u0144ski score (1959).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>W\u0142adys\u0142aw S\u0142owi\u0144ski fot.
