Ignacy Zalewski

(b. 1990), composer, conductor. He graduated from the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw, where he studied composition with prof. Marcin Blazewicz (2009-2014). In 2015 he obtained a Ph. D.

Ignacy Zalewski is a prize-winner of over a dozen awards on international and all-polish composers' competitions e. g. 1st prize on the Multiculturalism doesn't work? International Composers' Competition (2014), 1st prize on the 51st T. Baird Composers' Competition (2010), laureate of 3rd Prize and Special Award on International Krzysztof Penderecki ARBORETUM Composer's Competition (2012), 2nd prize on the All-Polish K. Szymanowski Composer's Competition (2013), Polish Minister of Culture and National Heritage's Award for ''outstanding artistic achievements'' (2012). He is also scholarship holder of the South-korean DongSang Research Foundation (2012) and Polish Minister of Science and Higher Education (2012).

In concert season 2013-2014 Ignacy Zalewski was a composer-in-residence of Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, in 2016-2017 – composer-in-residence of Swietokrzyska Philharmonic in Kielce.

Ignacy Zalewski is a winner of "Amadeus" Award for the best Polish Radio composer's debut (2015) granted by Polish National Broadcasting Council (KRRiT), and awarded for "the best radio play score" at "Dwa Teatry" ("Two Theaters") Festival in Sopot (2015).

He also created musical setting of Polish TVP Kultura television channel (2018).

of Ukraine Composer's Union in Kiev (Ukraine), Centre of Modern Art in Nizhnyi Novgorod (Russia), Neues Zentralgebäude der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg, Hinterzarten Konzerthaus, Rostock HMT (Germany).

Among the performers of his music are Jacek Kaspszyk, Jessica Cottis, Marzena Diakun, Wojciech Michniewski, Szymon Bywalec, Jakub Chrenowicz, Jacek Rogala, Piotr Sułkowski, Agata Szymczewska, Marek Bracha, Leszek Lorent, Maciej Frąckiewicz and orchestras: Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, Slovenia RTV Symphony Orchestra, Lviv Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra, Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra, Beethoven Academy Orchestra, Lublin Philharmonic Orchestra, Świętokrzyska Philharmonic Orchestra, Opole Philharmonic Orchestra, Chopin University Symphony Orchestra etc.

Ignacy Zalewski is a conductor and member of Hashtag Ensemble, dedicated to new music.

Since 2014 Ignacy Zalewski works as a lecturer at Fryderyk Chopin University of Music, since 2015 as an Assistant Professor.

Since 2012 he is a member of Polish Society of Authors and Composers ZAiKS.

He is also a member of Social Commemoration Committee of the 200th anniversary Stanisław Moniuszko's Birthday.

On the Polish RDC Radio he runs his own broadcast on popularizing Polish classical music.
